T H E P E R S O N A
LIKES : Transfiguration, winter, steak, literature, travelling, friends, parties, Quidditch, smoking
DISLIKES : Herbology, sweets, hot weather, family events, muggle sports, petty arguments, gossip, lectures
STRENGTHS : brilliant, persuasive, skilled with magical theory, adaptive, ambitious, introverted
WEAKNESSES : cold, stubborn, used to getting his way, narcissistic, distrusting, lonely
BOGGART : A rather scary version of himself, old, alone and bitter, whose skin is melting off his face. He's not really sure what that last bit about, but he has to say it's frightening.
DEMENTOR : His sister Abigail had fallen ill when Alec was ten. She had never been very strong since birth, and they had been quite sure that they would lose her. There was one day in particular when Alec could get her to wake up. He’s rather sure he’d never been so scared before and never again since. After then, however, she bounced back and rarely becomes sick at all. It’s a bit of a mystery.
PATRONUS :One summer, Julian II managed to snag some tickets to the World Cup for his siblings. Alec was convinced his older brother had only done it to impress his girlfriend at the time with his amazing values and family bonds, but that didn’t matter much. He and Abigail had still thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Obviously he hasn’t really been able to form a corporeal patronus with that memory.
VERITASERUM :He's extremely lonely underneath the surface and wonders what it would be like to allow himself to trust another person
AMORTENTIA : a strange mixture of fresh, sea air, mint leaves and broom polish
PERSONALITY SUMMARY :Flirtatious and narcissistic: Well, he is a teenage boy, so perhaps this isn’t even worth mentioning. Alec thoroughly enjoys his ventures into the dating scene, though he isn’t likely to commit. In fact, if what a girl is in search of is an amorous love affair, she should certainly look elsewhere. If, however, what she hopes for is a good time with a boy who’s got good taste and manners and absolutely no expectations, well, Alec’s her man. This, of course, is completely dependent upon whether or not he deems her fit for the task.
Cold and indifferent: Generally seen with a bored or blank look upon his face, Alec cares little for the going-ons of others. There are times when he finds himself in a particularly pleasant mood and will suffer through pretending to listen to this petty problem or another from one of his friends, but a story either has to be extremely interesting or have something to do with him for him to actually take the time. (In his mind, those things generally go hand in hand). There is one person he might go out of his way to help, and that is his sister, but it isn’t likely that she would bother asking, and even that is a bit iffy, to be frank.
Distrusting and secretive: It isn’t really that Alec feels he has any reason not to trust others… he simply doesn’t feel he should. Personally, things would be simpler if each person spent more time looking after themselves, if you asked him. He’s not likely to lean on another person for anything and he expects that they will offer him the same courtesy. The boy isn’t completely devoid of emotion, though he does a good job of appearing to be. For one, Alec was never really encouraged to pay attention to things like emotions, so he isn’t really sure how to go about talking about them or why anyone would even want to. Beyond that, however, comes a vulnerability that he would rather avoid.
Ambitious and competitive: Alec has big hopes for his future, as he should. His youth was filled with assurances and fantastic stories about the achievements of his ancestors, so he expects nothing less from himself. This can, at times, become difficult for him as he never competes with anyone so much as himself and can be a bit hard on himself, but it should all be worth it in the end, right? He adores Quidditch and spends more time practicing than he should be bothered to (though this is something he usually does with every aspect of his life)
Clever and cultured: From a very young age, young Mister Vaisey has had a love for both travel and literature. His aunt would often return from whatever nook or cranny of the Earth she made her way to with gifts and tales and, unsurprisingly, books. From them, he learned the gist of several languages (though he is far from being fluent in any other than French and English) and the wonder of places outside of England. Places where one didn’t feel as though they should be wrung dry like a cloth on a daily basis. He liked England well enough, but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to leave it behind sometimes. Additionally, manners were of the utmost import to the Vaisey family, so he is generally well behaved. At school, things were very different, of course, but he could pull on that well-trained charm of his whenever he saw fit.

HISTORY SUMMARY :Born the second of three children to Julian and Christiana Vaisey, Alexander had a fairly average upbringing as far as purebloods were concerned. Even before his Hogwarts years, he was tutored in magical theory and law… sometimes more in the way to get around it, as it were, but that was a story in and of itself. Julian II, six years his senior, never really cared much for playing with his younger brother as was to be expected, so the majority of Alec’s childhood was spent with his younger sister. Alec and Abigail got on swimmingly. They were often made to attend gatherings with other pureblood children, naturally, but for the most part, it was just the two of them and whoever they had as a tutor at the moment. (Julian and Christiana often decided that they disapproved of one thing or another about their children’s tutors – though it was not always something that was unwarranted – so they went through those quickly.)
At the age of eleven, Alec got his Hogwarts letter, but his parents had already decided to move to Sweden, his mother’s birth country. This came in part because his maternal grandmother fell ill and Christiana wanted to return home to help and partly because Julian Sr. was unhappy with the curriculum at Hogwarts and wanted his children to attend Durmstrang. There, Alec saw a few of the same faces he’d seen throughout his childhood and made friends quickly, so it wasn’t the awkward affair he imagined it must’ve been for the muggleborns (not that he cared in the least). His friendships were things of convenience rather than amicability, choosing friends strategically for status or the general contentedness of his parents. He’d never really been the sort to bother himself with worrying about whether or not he was liked. Friends could come and go as easily as the Thames (or perhaps that wasn’t the right simile). Easier still, then. He’d never been one to fuss. Alec didn’t attach himself to a ‘best friend’, but rather a group of associates because that just made life so much simpler.
In classes he did well. High marks were certainly of import, though not so much so as with the eldest Vaisey child. Soon after Alec had entered Durmstrang, his brother was leaving, and the younger boy was better for it. He didn’t need to hide beneath the shadow of his older brother, after all. Two years following, Abigail started her own schooling as well. The two began to see less of one another, of course, but that still remains the strongest bond that the boy has managed (though he’s not quite sure the same can be said for his genial younger sister).
Coming into his fifth year, Alec finds himself with high hopes as he tends to be. Though he is a realist, where it comes to his own capabilities, the boy is purely optimistic. Brilliant as he is, he hopes to become a spell maker when he leaves school. To him, of course, this seems a perfectly reachable goal. Others, however, don’t seem too sure about his prospects. In any case, he’s got plenty of time left for making decisions, and having an ‘in’ at the Ministry won’t hurt him either. Besides, he’s always proven to be lucky. If it wasn’t for that, he probably wouldn’t have been chosen to attend the Triwizard tournament even though he was not yet of age. It will be interesting for him to go to Hogwarts and see all of his childhood friends again. Interesting, however does not necessarily mean good.
